EatOils™ – Microbial Cleaning That is EcoLogo Certified
EatOils™ products are made up of healthy microbes. There are many beneficial microbes. Beneficial microbes are found in cheese and yogurt and are a part of many antibiotics. Yeast is a microbe that helps to brew beer and make bread rise.
Microbes break down the food in our garden composters and create soil. Beneficial microbes in our digestive systems help to process our food so we can get all the nutrients out of our daily diet. EatOils™ products enhance the circle of life and save the environment by keeping harsh chemicals out of our water, soil and air. We put nature to work for your benefit!
Most microbial cleaning products are safe for use in a pressure washer and warm temp eratures up to 120 F can actually enhance the results of some of the microbial products. There are no special handling considerations with many of these products. They can’t harm fmishes or substrates and they only go after organic contaminants so they can’t make a new stain on a surface like some chemicals can.
Dilutions vary from company to company and from situation to situation, but most microbial cleaning products can be diluted at 1-4 oz per gallon (128:1- 32:1) of water. Liquid microbial products for industrial use have a relatively long shelf life – up to 4 years in the field, providing they are not exposed to temperature extremes.
Many microbial cleaners claim to be green, but an Independently Certified green product is more likely to meet the standards than one that doesn’t carry the EcoLogo™ or Green Seal™ logo. These products undergo an in-depth audit to insure that the formulas contain no harsh chemicals, solvents, or toxic materials so they can be SAFE for the user and SAFE for the environment.
There is an article available from TerraChoice, the people who oversee the EcoLogo™ program entitled ‘The six sins of Greenwashing’ that outlines the problem of many products that claim to be green without independent certification.
As we move forward and look into the future there will probably be new technologies and methods for cleaning that will go beyond the current crop of Green cleaning products and eventually you may be able to abandon your toolbox of harsh cleaning chemicals as all cleaning jobs will be addressed by safer products.
